Death on the Nile (1978) Movie Review

“Death on the Nile” is a 1978 film adaptation of the classic Agatha Christie novel of the same name. Directed by John Guillermin and featuring an all-star cast including Peter Ustinov, Mia Farrow, Bette Davis, and Maggie Smith, the film is a thrilling murder mystery that takes place aboard a luxurious riverboat traveling down the Nile River.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, with veteran actresses like Bette Davis and Maggie Smith delivering strong performances that add to the film’s overall quality. As well as a zany and unforgettable performance by Angela Lansbury as the drunk Salome Otterbourne that shouldn’t be missed

The pacing can be slow at times, but the stunning visuals and top-notch performances keep the audience engaged. The film does an excellent job of bringing the exotic setting of Egypt to life, with stunning shots of the Nile River, ancient temples, and the sprawling desert.

“Death on the Nile” is a classic murder mystery film that is a must-see for fans of Agatha Christie or detective stories in general. The exotic setting, all-star cast, and intricate plot make for a thrilling and entertaining viewing experience.
