I saw this on The Bookish Mutant blog a few months back and thought it was a perfect post for summer. Let’s cooldown on this blazing summer day with a cold pint of ice cream and some good books. So grab your favorite flavor of Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s- mines is Phish Food and Chocolate Fudge Brownie- and let’s get into the tag.
Vanilla Caramel Fudge: Pick a light, fluffy contemporary.

Queen Elizabeth II is solving crimes happening on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Downright hilarious, lighthearted, and fun. You can read my review here.
Mint Chocolate Cookie: A new release you wish everyone would read.

Codebreaking, mysterious disappearances, an ex-con man trying to reconnect with his son. There’s a lot I liked and disliked in The Twyford Code. It’s a book with a high-octane plot. I just want everyone to read it so that I can decide if I like or hate this book.
Cherry Garcia: An ending that was bittersweet.

A Gentleman’s Murder mediates the different paths soldiers can take when returning home from war. Couched in a murder mystery, the characters wrestle with identity, love, PTSD, connection, and loss. It’s a beautiful and bittersweet ride. I hope more books from Christopher Huang will be out soon. You can read my review here.
Strawberry Shortcake: A book containing your OTP of OTPs.

Hastings and Poirot are my one true pairing for detective fiction. Hastings always charging in with the wrong ideas, anc constantly falling in love with the most unsuitable women. Poirot exasperated by his gallant lovestruck friend, who wants nothing more than order and perfection are the most hilarious in The Murder on the Links. You can read my review here.
Milk & Cookies: Two authors, who, if they collaborated, would go perfectly together.

These two masters of Nordic Noir would make a twisty, closed-circle mystery that would be genuinely haunted and terrifying. The book would probably be based on some terrible historical secret that comes bursting into the present. It would be amazing. You can read my review of Jar City here and you can read my review of The Day is Dark here.
Boston Cream Pie: A book that had you turning pages late into the night.

Someone is hiding in the house and they will stop at nothing to find a buried treasure. With secret rooms, hidden identites, disturbing disappearance, The Circular Staircase kept me reading into the wee hours. You can read my review here.
Chocolate Therapy: A book that makes you feel better after a long day of life.

The Thursday Murder Club is a cozy mystery with lovable characters that suck you fully into the hilarious and slightly dangerous world of Cooper’s Chase. It helps remind me that life is full of adventure and bad days are fleeting. You can read my full review here.
